I am for birth control. Even if birth control was unavailable to me I would still use condoms religiously.

I’ve been having a really hard time lately with “finding the good people” in this world. So often I meet people that just don’t think or care about themselves, other people, the world. We all fit in to this world like a puzzle. I know I’m not the epitome of a good person but I know that I am at least a worthwhile person to know.
I would laugh with you, try to make you laugh, try to engage your mind and discuss something, try and cheer you up if you’re down. I want someone who would do the same for me. I’ve met a few really, genuinely good people lately and I am so fortunate to know them. Those are the people you need to hold on to when you find them. Let them know you’re worthwhile to have around, too.
I don’t think I ever really realized how many thoughts I have and how many words I could say on any one topic.

Last Friday I took a tour of the Real Ale Brewery with Brandon and some friends. We got to sample all of the new beers to the market including the Real Heavy Scotch Ale and the Extra Special Bitter, which is my new favorite.
It’s amazing how different the ubiquitous Fireman’s 4 tasted on tap. It was creamy and smooth with a note of wheat that was unfamiliar in comparison with my other experiences with it on tap at bars and in the bottle. Drinking a beer that has traveled about 50 feet from the casking station to the tap is kind of amazing.
The Fall seasonal on tap was Coffee Porter and also had a very different flavor profile. The porter that I recognize from the bottle has a strong coffee and caramel flavor which makes it almost deliciously sweet on the palette. The Coffee Porter on tap was smoky was malty but not sweet and had only very light hints of coffee. This bias might have been caused by the ESB that I had prior.
One brewing project that Brandon and myself are very excited about is the Mysterium Verum a brew-series of barrel-aged beers with very unique characteristics and high alcohol content. So far the only brews available are WT3F?! which I assume to mean “what the triple fuck” considering it is “a triple wort fermented exclusively with Brettanomyces bruxellensis”. The other is a version of their Sisyphus barley wine.
This means that we will be making another stop to the Real Ale Brewery sometime very soon to try and catch a taste of true mystery.
All of the beers tasted at the brewery had a much more subtle flavor and were all deliciously smooth. It was impossible to savor them for too long before they were all gone.
I made a big take home pizza last night. I loaded it up with spinach, mushroom, green onions and red bell pepper a long with a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese. It was delicious but I probably should not have eaten half of it last night. Three slices would have suffice but I ate four instead.
Hopefully after the shopping I did I will be able to eat better and more regularly. I got some whole wheat bagels, whole wheat bread, triscuits, hummus, spinach, bananas, cheese and cream cheese.
It’s really hard for me to get through the day without the carbs and when I’m really super hungry I start to crave cheese and carbs. It’s the survival mechanism kicking in and saying “Um, hello? Feed me you negligent cretin!”. Preventing myself from getting to that stage of hunger will really cut down on eating too much.
I know I still have a really big problem with my eating disorder. I want to eat and be strong and healthy and have muscles for once. At the same time, I know I’m trying to balance eating just enough calories to stay energized and gain muscle without gaining more weight elsewhere. This balance is extremely hard to strike in anyone and I know it is fueled by a fear of gaining weight.
Yes this is going to be one of those “all of the things I’m thankful for posts”.
There are a lot of ways in which a persons life could get immensely worse. For me some of those more awful things would be…
And I’m thankful for many other things like
I know that a lot of people get caught up in the #firstworldproblems of things (I do too) but when you really think about your life none of us really have it all that bad.
What you make of your life is about 99% of your happiness. If you’re convinced that there is something terribly wrong with your life, you’re probably not only going to be insanely unhappy but you’ll also probably be a whiny little bitch.
Caffeine Alters Estrogen Levels in Younger Women
With about 90% of women aged 18-44 drinking one or two cups of coffee everyday, one has to wonder what effects this could be having on our health, besides the usually intended energy boost. A recent study looked at the estrogen levels in women in this age group to see if that daily cup of joe really made a difference. And, as it turns out, it does.
The women, who were drinking on average 900mg of caffeine a day, were monitored over two menstrual cycles. While most women were affected by the caffeine intake, how so actually depended on race.
Asian and African American women who consumed more than 200mg a day were actually determined to have higher estrogen levels than they did at the commencement of the study, though the estrogen increase of the African American women was not nearly as significant as that of the Asian women. On the other hand, caucasian women had the opposite effect, with their estrogen levels decreasing.
While the possible reasonings as to why the effects differed by race remain unknown, when tested with other caffeinated beverages, such as green tea and sodas, estrogen levels in all of the women increased, regardless of race.
Now, should we be worried? Well, women in this age group who have already had children don’t have to worry, as a difference was not statistically notable. As for the rest, The New York Times reports “while healthy, premenopausal women should not worry about caffeine intake in the short term, more research was needed to see if there could be a cumulative impact over many years or decades.”
I have been a “cup a day” or more kind of gal since High School. This study really makes me worry since I drink a lot of coffee. I also make my coffee richer than most people. This study makes me seriously take into consideration that I should switch to tea on at least half of the days of the week.

I think this is true beauty. These people not only have beautiful bodies and faces but beautiful minds and ideals to match.

I feel like this from time to time. I’ve noticed that since I’ve stopped taking my multi-vitamin I have had a voracious and unnatural appetite. I will need to start taking another multi and hopefully curb the appetite down to a manageable level.
